EASTER DAY.

At Morning Prayer, instead of the Psalm, O come let us, &c. these ANTHEMES shall be sung or said.

CHrist rising again from the dead, now dieth not, death from henceforth hath no power upon him : for in that he died, he died but once to put away sinne, but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. And so likewise, count your selves dead unto sin, but living unto God, in Christe Jesus our Lord.

CHrist is risen again, the first fruits of them that sleep : for seeing that by man came death, by man also commeth the resurrection of the dead. For as by Adam all men do dye, so by Christ all men shall bee restored to life.

The Collect.

ALmighty God, which through thy only begotten Son Jesus Christ, hast overcome death, and opened unto us the gate of everlasting life, we humbly beseech thee, that, as by thy speciall grace, preventing [=predisposing] us, thou doest put in our mindes good desires, so by thy continuall help we may bring the same to good effect; through Jesus Christ our Lord who liveth, &c.

In the original, the Epistles and Gospels are printed at length, from the King James translation; only the citations are given here, with links to the text.
