Renew our spirits, O Lord

Although these organizations do not concentrate their focus on healing prayer, divine healing is a hallmark of the renewal movement, and these groups do touch on it from time to time in their publications, conferences, and teaching events.

Acts 29 Ministries. 1900 The Exchange, Atlanta, GA 30339. Telephone (770) 952-2670 or (800) 299-6324. Founded 1973 as Episcopal Charismatic Fellowship. Acts 29 Ministries conducts teaching and training seminars in the USA and abroad that are designed to invigorate parishes at the local level and bring individuals closer to Jesus. There is a conference or workshop for everyone, no matter where you are (new Christian, church staff, clergy): Let the Fire Fall; Dare to Share; The Call, the Challenge, and the Commitment; More Than Broken Vessels; On Wings of Eagles; The Empowered Christian; Liberating the Leader Within. Publishes Acts 29, an inspirational magazine, and Insights, the organization's newsletter. Runs a clergy and staff placement service. (NOTE: In August 1998, Acts 29 Ministries mailed out fundraising letters announcing that they are launching a "crusade" to oppose the "12 Theses" written by the Rt. Rev. John Spong. ERM plans "a media blitz from our national office that will be reflected in every one of our magazine publications, national advertising and to each and every church we have as partners in ministry.")

Lift Up Your Hearts. The worship, liturgy and spirituality site of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC). An excellent, well-organized, comprehensive site that provides access to practical resources designed to enhance worship and spiritual life. Lutheran focus, but it is offered as a contribution to the common life of the ecumenical church. You could spend a solid week just exploring their links: Resources for Worship and Spirituality (planning, crafting and praying prayers, hymn suggestions), Helps for Leaders (including music leaders), Sites Devoted to Worship and Liturgy (preaching, music, kinetic arts, publishing houses and booksellers), Sites Devoted to Christian Spirituality (life issues, spiritual formation and nurture, saints, mysticism, prayer), and Sites in the Global Church Community (religious orders, communities, and ecumenical organizations).
