LITANY OF THANKSGIVING

Let us praise God for his kingdom being set up in all the world.

THE kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ;
And he shall rule for ever and ever.

We give you thanks, Lord God Almighty, who is and was and is to come,
Because you have taken your great power and ruled.

You are fit, Lord, to receive glory and honour and power:
For you have made all things, and for your pleasure they are; and were made.

Let us give thanks for the things of this world.

We thank you O God, for health by which we are able to work,
    We thank you, O God.

For blessings given us as the reward of work,
    We thank you, O God.

For knowledge of you and of your works,
    We thank you, O God.

For food and for all things we need for our souls and bodies,
    We thank you, O God.

I will give thanks to you,
For I am wonderfully made;
It is wonderful what you do,
And that my soul knows very well.
    We thank you, O God.

While all your works praise you, O Lord, and your saints give thanks to you,
I too will be talking of your worship, your glory, your praise and wonderful works.

My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord, and let all men give thanks to his holy Name, for ever and ever. Amen.

Let us give thanks for those who love us.

For the love of father and mother,
    We thank you, O God.

For the love of teachers and friends,
    We thank you, O God.

For all who have been kind to us, or have helped us in sickness,
    We thank you, O God.

To God our Father, who first loved us,
To God the Son, who loved us, and set us free from our sins by his own blood,
To God the Holy Spirit, who pours the love of God into our hearts,
Be all love and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Let us praise God for Mission work.

For all whom the Lord has saved,
And set free from the hand of the enemy,
And brought together out of all lands,
From the east and from the west,
From the north and from the south,
    We praise you, O God.

For faithful lives of those you sent,
    We praise you, O God.

For heathen brought into the Church,
    We praise you, O God.

For lives laid down in your service,
    We praise you, O God.

We thank you, O Lord our God, that you have made known to us the Gospel of your love. We worship you as our Lord and King; for you are fit, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power, for ever and ever. Amen.

Let us thank God for the Sacraments.

For the gift of spiritual life in Holy Baptism and Confirmation,
    We thank you, O God.

For the gift of the Holy Spirit in Ordination,
    We thank you, O God.

For spiritual food given us in the Holy Communion,
    We thank you, O God.

For the forgiveness of our sins in the sacrament of Penance,
    We thank you, O God.

For friendship with the saints in the Church,
    We thank you, O God.

For the knowledge of you made known through the Church,
    We thank you, O God.

For the grace of Christian love in Holy Marriage,
    We thank you, O God.

For strength to body and soul in Holy Anointing
    We thank you, O God.
