THE COLLECT

O GOD, who hast made this most holy night to shine with the brightness of the true light: Grant, we beseech thee, that we. who have known the mystery of his light on earth, may also attain to the fruition of his joys in heaven. who liveth and reigneth with thee. in the unity of the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

ALMIGHTY God, who didst wonderfully create man in thine own image, and didst yet more wonderfully restore him: Grant, we beseech thee, that as thy Son our Lord Jesus Christ was made in the likeness of men, so we may be made partakers of the divine nature: through the same thy Son, who with thee and the Holy Ghost liveth and reigneth, ever one God, world without end. Amen.
