A new series of free lunchtime lectures entitled

TALES OF MEDIEVAL DUBLIN

will take place tomorrow on Tuesday 15 June 2010,
at 1.05pm, located in the new

WOOD QUAY VENUE

in the Civic Offices, Wood Quay in Dublin 8. The series which
has been organised by the Friends of Medieval Dublin and
supported by Dublin City Council, will be launched at 1.00pm
by the Lord Mayor, Councillor Emer Costello.

The first lecture, by the chairman of the Friends of Medieval
Dublin, Dr Seán Duffy, will recount the tale of Abbot Beraid,
the pre-Viking abbot of Dubh-Linn who died in 650 AD.

These monthly lectures on Tuesday continue a series of
lunchtime talks intended to inspire interest in the history of
Dublin and its surroundings that have taken place at nearby
Christ Church since 1997, and more recently have involved
the active and generous participation of Dublin City Council.
