Dear Mgr. Sylvestre

I know what elections means when people have been in power, they do not want to relinguish easily - they create all sorts of means to stay there longer. We have gone through Presidential and legislative election this year in Seychelles - and both have not gone by, by corruptive moves etc etc. So I will pray for your country, so that you achieve the desire of the people of a just and fair nation.

Blessings

Chers freres et soeurs en Christ,

ELECTIONS EN D.R. CONGO

( Bellow is the English version)

ELECTIONS IN D.R. CONGO

Now more than 20 years ago, the Democratic Republic of Congo has several wars by rebel troupes, militias FDLR/Interahamwe, Maimai, Raia Mutomboki, etc. All these wars have caused death of many people and have plunged the country in poverty due to a great insecurity.

In order to change the situation, the country has organized free, transparent and democratic elections in 2006 that have formed a new government leading the country now 5 years ago. During this period, the country has got a transformation of peace in spite of some acts of insecurity from the militias Maimai and FDLR/Interahamwe in the east of the country.

The mandate of the current government is at the end. Congolese people are going to new presidential and legislative elections (on November 28th, 2011. As we know, elections in Africa are often a cause of war if the candidates can not agree with the results.

Therefore, we require prayer assistance so that the elections in D.R. Congo may take place in peace with results contributing to the peace establishment everywhere in the country.

                                Rt Rev BAHATI BALI-BUSANE Sylvestre
