Dear All,

Many of you remember Amy Roth, sometime senior warden of St. Paul's Rome and member of the Council of Advice.

Here is what she is doing these days. I for one am very proud of her.

> Dear Pierre,
>
> This weekend, Pulitzer Prize-winning author and New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof accompanied local police and the IJM Kolkata team on a rescue operation in a Kolkata red-light district.
>
> Though the operation had been planned to secure the rescue of one, "we emerged from the brothel with five lives that had just been transformed," Kristof writes.

> After uncovering proof that a 15-year-old girl had been trafficked to the brothel, the team quickly planned a rescue operation. Inside, they found not only the terrified girl, but two more young women asking to be rescued, as well as a 10-year-old who had just been trafficked into the brothel, and a 5-year-old girl who appeared to have been abandoned there.
>
> As a result of the effective and courageous action of our police partners, one pimp has been arrested, and there are warrants out for two more. Our social workers will continue to support the girls in the case, who are now safe from their abusers.

> Thank you for joining IJM in making freedom possible for girls and women waiting for rescue.
