Saturday 5 April 2008 - St John's Gospel Performance (19.30)
'The Gospel of St John: one man, every word'. Brad Sherrill
will perform the entire gospel of St John from memory
(the New International Version) on Saturday 5 April
at 7.30pm. The Atlanta-based actor, spent four months
learning the text, and the performance premiered in 2000,
and since touring much of the US and England. A collection
will be accepted at the end of the performance. For further

The Norwich School Band will perform a lunchtime concert at
1.15pm in the cathedral including works for chorus, solo and band.

The Norwich School Band will perform an afternoon concert
in the cathedral grounds at 3.30pm including works for

Wednesday 9 April 2008 - Triennial Easter Vestry (19.00)
The Easter vestry takes place in the chapter room on
Wednesday 9 April at 7.00pm, a meeting which takes
place every three years at which also the cathedral board
is elected. The register of those who can vote is revised
as advertised at a Board meeting of 8 January, and those
whose names are included in the register can vote elect

Friday 11 April 2008 - Table Quiz for Rwanda (19.30)
A table quiz will be held in the crypt on Friday 11 April
2008 at 7.30pm to raise money for projects in Rwanda.
All are most welcome. A table for four costs 40 euro
which includes a raffle. The organisers, Lesley Rue and

takes place in Trinity College chapel in which members of
the cathedral choir will participate. For details contact

Tuesday 15 April 2008 - Handel Festival Concert (20.00)
The cathedral choirs of Christ Church and St Patrick's will
perform with the Orchestra of St Cecilia under conductors
Judy Martin and Peter Barley, with Tristan Russcher as
organ soloist. The centrepiece of the concert will be Handel,
'Dixit Dominus', accompanied by Purcell, 'Te Deum laudamus',
and Handel, 'Organ Concerto Op.7 no.4 in d'.

Thursday 17 April 2008 - Lunchtime Concert: Hewitt School (13.15)
The choir of Hewitt School, New York will give a lunchtime
concert at 1.15pm on Thursday 17 April 2008. Their repertoire
includes works by Victoria, Childs, Pfautsch, Friedman, Lowry
and Barts. All are welcome. Admission is included with the

Friday 18 April 2008 - Handel Festival 'Messiah' (19.30)
Christ Church cathedral choir with the orchestra of St Cecilia
will perform Handel, 'Messiah' on Friday 18 April 2008 at
7.30pm forming the grand finale of the Handel Festival that
has been taking place during the week. Conducted by the
director of music at Christ Church, Judy Martin, the soloists
will be Hannah Atherton (soprano), Patrick Craig (counter-tenor),
James Atherton (tenor) and Paul Thomas (bass).

Saturday 19 April 2008 - Lunchtime Concert: Mountain View (13.15)
Mountain View High School Madrigals Choir will give a
lunchtime recital at 1.15pm in the cathedral. Based in
Silicon Valley in northern California, the choir is one of three
in the school which boasts over 30% of its student body in
its music programmes. Directed by Jill Denny, the programme
will include a wide variety of music from Renaissance to Jazz.

Saturday 26 April 2008 - Pipeworks Organ Marathon (10.00-16.00)
The annual Pipeworks festival fundraising organ marathon takes
place at Christ Church from 10.00am to 4.00pm on Saturday 26
April, and relies heavily on the goodwill and commitment of its
sponsors and friends who support these events. The 2008 festival
budget will be about 150,000 euro and 30,000 euro is needed to
make this year's festival work. This is your chance to play the cathedral
organ which will be used in the Dublin International Organ Competition
in June! Participants will play for 10 minutes each and raise as much
money as possible for the 2008 festival. For any queries, please email

Saturday 26 April 2008 - Pipeworks Organ Recital (18.00)
The organ marathon day will conclude with an organ recital
at 6.00pm by young Irish organist, Simon Harden following
evensong which is at 5.00pm. He is the 2007 prize winner
of the coveted Netherlands Schnitger organ prize:
