Monday 14 January 2008 - Lunchtime Concert (13.15)
The music ensembles of Baker University in Kansas, USA
will perform a lunchtime concert in the cathedral on Monday
14 January 2008 at 1.15pm. As part of their Ireland and
England tour of 2008, they will perform hymns, anthems
and fanfares from a variety of British, American and
European composers. The directors are John Buehler,
Ray James and Lori McKinney.

Sunday 20 January 2008 - Cathedral Eucharist (11.00)
The Second Sunday after The Epiphany falls
within the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
Preacher: Gillian Kingston. Eucharist setting:
Palestrina 'Missa Hodie Christus natus est',
Communion Motet: Palestrina 'Tu es Petrus'.

Friday 25 January 2008 - Ecumenical Irish Service (20.00)
On the Feast of the conversion of St Paul the Apostle,
and within the Octave of Christian Unity, the Irish Guild
of the Church (Cumann Gaelach na hEaglaise) and Pobal
an Aifrinn have organised an interdenominational service
or prayer and music in Irish entitled 'Pray without ceasing'.

Preacher: The precentor, the Revd Professor Adrian Empey
The Third Sunday after The Epiphany (Candlemas)
Sung by the cathedral choir and cathedral girls' choir.
Eucharist setting: Schubert 'Mass in G', Communion
Motet: Eccard 'When to the temple Mary went'.

Sunday 27 January 2008 - Evening Prayer (15.30)
As the candlemas procession takes place this evening at
5.00pm, evening prayer will be said in the Lady chapel.

Sunday 27 January 2008 - Candlemas Procession (17.00)
Sung by the cathedral choir, the Candlemas Procession
will include music by Howells, Biebl, Lennox Berkeley
and Byrt, as well as a Nunc Dimittis by Macmillan and
Langlais, 'Messe Solennelle'.
