Tuesday 1 November 2005 - Patronal Eucharist (20.00)
For All Saints’ Day, the cathedral choir will join the parish
of All Saints', Grangegorman, one of the parishes
in the cathedral group of parishes, to celebrate their
patronal eucharist. The preacher will be the Revd
Alan Rufli, Rector of Holmpatrick. The music will be
include Stanford 'Justorum animae' and Bullock 'Give
us the wings of faith'.

Saturday 5 November 2005 - Lunchtime Recital (13.15)
In the first of a series of five Saturday lunchtime recitals entitled
'Concerts @ Christ Church', Tristan Russcher, the acting assistant
organist at the cathedral, who recently came second in the Dublin
International Organ Competition, will give an organ recital.

Sunday 6 November 2005 - Citizenship Service (15.30)
The annual Citizenship Service this year takes place
in the afternoon taking the form of evensong. The
preacher will be Bishop Willie Walsh of Killaloe.
Music includes Shephard responses, arr. Tippett 'Steal away'
and Bairstow 'Blessed city, heavenly Salem'.

Tuesday 8 November 2005 - Lunchtime Lecture (13.15)
The first of a series of four Tuesday lunchtime lectures in
November entitled 'Aspects of Dublin Parish Life', will take
place on 8 November at 1.15pm, and will be given by
Professor Raymond Gillespie of the Department of
Modern History, Maynooth on the topic 'The parishes of
St Catherine & St James in the 17th century'.

Saturday 12 November 2005 - Historical Society Meeting (10.30)
The Church of Ireland Historical Society will hold a meeting
in the chapter room of Christ Church cathedral from 10.30am
until 3.15pm, during which at 11.00, Dr Daithí Ó Corráin
will speak on 'The Church of Ireland and the Irish Free State',
at noon, the Revd Canon Dr Billy Marshall will examine research on the
'Church of ireland Clergy overseas' and at 2.00pm, the Revd Canon
Dr John Crawford will speak on 'The Rev. Tresham Danes Gregg
1800-1889'. All are welcome. The conference subscription is 20 Euro.

Saturday 12 November 2005 - Lunchtime Recital (13.15)
In the second of a series of five Saturday lunchtime recitals
entitled 'Concerts @ Christ Church', the vocal quartet,
'Quattuor Voces' will give a concert conducted by cathedral
choir member, Michelle Whelan, a fourth year music student
in Trinity College, who also conducts the TCD Singers this year.

The cathedral chapter meets on the feast of Laurence
O’Toole's, patron saint of Dublin. At 12.45, a capitular
eucharist will take place in the nave. All are welcome

Tuesday 15 November 2005 - Lunchtime Lecture (13.15)
The second of a series of four Tuesday lunchtime lectures
in November entitled 'Aspects of Dublin Parish Life', will take
place on 15 November at 1.15pm, and will be given by Brendan
Twomey of the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland and will
be entitled 'St Paul's: the management of an 18th century parish'.

Cathedral Group of Parishes on the subject of 'The

Saturday 26 November 2005 - Lunchtime Recital (13.15)
In the fourth of a series of five Saturday lunchtime recitals, entitled
'Concerts @ Christ Church', soprano, Aisling Kenny, a recent
member of the cathedral choir, originally hailing from Galway,
accompanied by fellow cathedral choir member and pianist,
Judith Gannon, will give a recital in the cathedral at at 1.15pm.

Sunday 27 November 2005 - Advent Procession (17.00)
'The season of Advent is a time of quiet reflection and joyful
hope as the church prepares for Christmas and meditates
upon the wonderful purposes of God'. The annual Advent
procession will take place on Sunday 27 November at 5.00pm,
taking the form of a candle-lit procession with carols for the
season of Advent. Said evening prayer will take place at 15.30.

Tuesday 29 November 2005 - Lunchtime Lecture (13.15)
The final of a series of four Tuesday lunchtime lectures
in November entitled 'Aspects of Dublin Parish Life',
will take place on 29 November at 1.15pm, and will be
given by Dr Martin Maguire from the Dundalk Institute
of Technology on the subject 'Class and the dynamics
of social status in Dublin parishes in the 20th century'.

Tuesday 8 November 2005 - Evening Lecture (20.00)
As part of a lecture series organised by the Mater Dei Institute
of Education (co-sponsored by the Roman Catholic Dublin
Diocesan Advisory Committee on Ecumenism and the Dublin
Council of Churches) to mark the 40th Anniversary of the
conclusion of Vatican II, Sister Cecily Boulding O.P.,
will give a lecture in the Mater Dei Institute of Education,
Drumcondra on Tuesday 8 November at 8.00pm entitled
"Ecumenism Forty Years on - are we still in the desert?".
