  The Ordinal from
The Alternative Service Book 1980
(as amended in 2000)
        
    This is the list of amendments made in 2000 to the Ordinal in the The Alternative Service Book 1980.
     
1   At the end of Note 5 insert:

"The pattern of the Order for the Celebration of Holy Communion, Order 1, may be followed in Section 2 (The Gathering and the Greeting) and in Sections 4-8 (Readings). The Post-Communion may be that for Ember Days."
     
2   In Note 7 after the words "The Declaration" insert the words: "or at The Peace".
     
3   After Note 9 insert:

"9   Variation in Order

The presentation to the Bishop or Archbishop may occur after the Greeting, the presentation to the people after the Declaration, and the giving of the Bible and other symbols as part of the concluding rite."
     
4   In Section 8 of the Ordination of Deacons, Section 8 of the Ordination of Priests, Section 8 of the Ordination of Deacons and Priests and Section 8 of the Ordination of Bishops, leave out the rubric "when it is announced", the words "All  Glory to Christ our Saviour", the rubric "At the end the reader says" and the words "This is the Gospel of Christ" and "All  Praise to Christ our Lord" and insert:
     
    "When the gospel is announced the reader says:
     
      Hear the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to N.
    All Glory to you, O Lord.
     
    At the end:
      This is the gospel of the Lord.
    All Praise to you, O Christ."
     
5   In Section 21 of the Ordination of Deacons, Section 21 of the Ordination of Priests, Section 27 of the Ordination of Deacons and Priests and Section 21 of the Ordination of Bishops, leave out the words "(Holy Communion Rite A, Sections 30, 31; Rite B, Sections 24, 25)".
