This form may be used to introduce the time of giving thanks
The Lord is here.
AllHis Spirit is with us.
Lift up your hearts.
AllWe lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our
God.
AllIt is right to give thanks and praise.
The Thanksgiving may conclude with a short song, or with a canticle such as Great and Wonderful (Common Worship, page 800).
1Great and wonderful are
your deeds, ♦
Lord God the Almighty.
2Just and true are your
ways, ♦
O ruler of the nations.
3Who shall not revere and
praise your name, O Lord? ♦
for you alone are holy.
4All nations shall come
and worship in your presence: ♦
for your just dealings have been revealed.
To the One who sits on the throne and to the
Lamb:
be blessing and honour and glory and might,
for ever and ever. Amen.
Suitable passages from the Bible may be read. This may be followed by silence. Sharing of reflections on the readings may take place, a brief talk may be given or a short meditation may be led.
Needs for prayer may be shared and open
prayer may follow.
The prayers may conclude with the Lord's Prayer.
The canticle Nunc Dimittis may be
used.
The meeting may conclude with the saying of the Grace or the
sharing of the Peace.
