Affirmation of Baptismal Faith or Reception into the Communion of the Church of England

including Provision in the Absence of the Bishop


Affirmation of Baptismal Faith does not of necessity require the presence of the bishop and may be presided over by a priest. Reception into the Communion of the Church of England is governed by Canon B 28; except where the person concerned is a priest, the service may be presided over by the parish priest. The form to be followed when this is incorporated into the normal pattern of parish worship is set out below.
