[SB] swans

A reader (hi, Ed!) suggested that the swans I saw were likely Trumpeter
Swans, the largest waterfowl in North American. The species has been
brought back from the verge of extinction. I'm not a birder; even if I had
had binoculars with me, the 401 is not a place to use them, so I can't be
sure. All I can say was that the two I saw flying over the 401 were indeed
BIG honkers -- in body size, they reminded me of wild turkeys, although the
wings were much wider -- and photographer Diane Dorion has pictures of
Trumpeter Swans on the loose in Toronto.

Thanks to all who responded to this piece. It always surprises me that what
feels like a bunt from my end turns out to be a line drive.
