It has been a year of both constancy and change for Emmaus Chapter.

Emmaus continues its weekly Saturday evening hospitality ministry. We do
evening prayer, have a potluck meal and fellowship, discuss the lectionary
readings for the next day, and do Comp line. Attendance varies from 5 to
18, averaging about 12. While most attendee's are "regulars" - long time
friends of Rivendell, we do have several new friends who have started
attending.

Most weekday mornings, if any of us are in town, we can be found at the
Grace-St. Luke's chapel doing morning prayer. On Wednesday mornings, we
frequently attend a street ministry church service at St. Mary's Cathedral.
On Tuesday evenings, we meet with our companions in Texas via Google Hangout
for online evening prayer.

We have five postulants: Margie and Roger Wolcott, Chuck and Lori Miller,
and June Averyt. Gillian was a postulant for a few months, but found it
difficult to stay with study, and elected to be a friend of Rivendell
instead of a postulant. The Wolcotts have been friends of Rivendell for
a number of years. The Millers were invited to a Saturday evening meeting
by the Wolcotts, and found here something they were searching for, so
inquired about postulancy. The Wolcotts also were interested, so the next
thing we knew we had a full class of postulants. We have chapter meetings
on the first and third Saturdays each month. Chapter meetings usually
start with a Eucharist (Chuck is a minister, so officiates), then we have
been studying and discussing the formation materials. At present, we are
about half-way through the postulancy materials.

Our plans for next year are to finish the postulancy formation materials
with the postulants, and to continue with our ministries. Once we finish
the postulancy formation materials, we will probably discuss the novice
formation materials, although there is also some interest in reading and
discussing some other books. We are planning a "Tolkien" retreat this
summer for formation unit B.
