Dear Godly Play Friends,<br>

I promised to tell you about the launch of Godly Play Australia for my note this month. I am attaching a picture of working with the Parable of the Good Shepherd while in Australia. I was “discussing” with a child what’s in a parable. <br>
<br>
Godly Play has now been officially translated into Aussie English! The launch took place in Sydney at a national conference from July-13-17, 2011. It was held at the Uniting Church Centre for Ministry, but in addition to the initiative and the leadership of Judyth Roberts and her Godly Play team at the Centre, the conference was strongly supported by Roman Catholics, Anglicans, and others. <br>
<br>
In connection with the celebration of the launch over 90 teachers were trained by an international group of trainers from the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. <br>
<br>
Another part of the celebration was a radio program based on interviews by Rachael Kohn, a widely respected host and the presenter of “The Spirit of Things,” which is widely listened to in Australia. In our country this would be like having an hour-long program devoted to Godly Play on NPR.
