<td style="padding: 15px 20px 20px;"><p><img height="128" src="https://ecf.episcopalfoundation.org/view.image?Id=659" style="margin: 5px; float: left;" width="108"></p><p>Dear <span>Bishop Whalon</span>:</p><p>It was wonderful to see you in Phoenix last month and I know many of you were interested to hear about ECF’s newest endeavor, <strong><a href="https://ecf.episcopalfoundation.org/page.redir?target=http%3a%2f%2fecfvp.org&srcid=88&srctid=1&erid=44"><em>ECF Vital Practices</em> (www.ecfvp.org)</a></strong>, the online extension of <em>Vestry Papers</em>. I am excited to let you know that <strong><a href="https://ecf.episcopalfoundation.org/page.redir?target=http%3a%2f%2fwww.ecfvp.org&srcid=88&srctid=1&erid=44">ECF Vital Practices (www.ecfvp.org)</a></strong> will go live on <strong>October 18, 2010</strong>.</p><p>As you know, since 1995 ECF and <em>Vestry Papers</em> have provided vestry members with spiritually grounded, practical resources to help vestries build healthy congregations in service to God’s mission. <em>ECF Vital Practices</em> will build upon that heritage in new and innovative ways, reaching even more people who are dedicated to building healthy, vibrant, and vital congregations.</p><p><em>ECF Vital Practices</em> is a brand new resource for Episcopal leaders, one we hope will help create and sustain excellent congregational leaders who can guide our Church into the future. The content and conversation on <em>ECF Vital Practices</em> will encourage practices that will strengthen faith communities and allow them to respond to the changing needs of the Church.</p><p>In addition to the <em>Vestry Papers</em> articles by experts and peers that our readers have come to expect, ECF Vital Practices will include practical tools for parish leaders, a lively blog where readers can share ideas and experiences, examples of congregational practices, and live chats with leaders, teachers, authors, and more. Additionally, <em>ECF Vital Practices</em> will be edited by Nancy Davidge whose strong experience in church communications will help shape this new ministry.</p><p><em>ECF Vital Practices</em>, free to everyone, offers us even more opportunities to create community among Episcopal leaders and foster learning about congregational issues among not only vestries and rectors, but also all lay people and clergy who lead congregations.</p><p>We hope that you will support this new project of ECF by encouraging your congregational development staff, clergy, and lay leaders to visit <strong><a href="https://ecf.episcopalfoundation.org/page.redir?target=http%3a%2f%2fwww.ecfvp.org&srcid=88&srctid=1&erid=44">www.ecfvp.org</a></strong> and sign up to receive news from <em><strong><a href="https://ecf.episcopalfoundation.org/page.redir?target=http%3a%2f%2fwww.ecfvp.org&srcid=88&srctid=1&erid=44">ECF Vital Practices</a></strong></em>.</p><p>We also hope that you will encourage your leaders to register for “Eat Pray Love - A Menu for Vestry Leadership,” a live web chat with the new president of The Episcopal Network for Stewardship, the Rev.
