All Past Choristers of the choirs of Christ Church
cathedral in Dublin are invited to join us on
S a t u r d a y 1 7 O c t o b e r 2 0 0 9
when singers from both choirs (the cathedral choir and
the cathedral girls' choir) past and present will come
together to sing Evensong, meeting afterwards at a
drinks reception in the cathedral crypt. Similar services
have been held in 1993 and 2002 and it is a joy for us
to welcome back those who have sung here as boys,
girls and adults. This occasion will also mark the official
launch of a new cathedral past choristers' association.
The timetable for the day is as follows:
14.00 - Welcome and refreshments
14.30 - Seating in Song School
14.40 - Rehearsal
15.25 - Break
15.45 - Seating in the cathedral
16.00 - Full rehearsal
16.45 - Break
17.00 - Evensong
18.00 - Reception in the cathedral crypt
The music for the service is: Introit: Bruckner 'Locus iste',
Responses: Sanders (cathedral choir only), Psalm: 150,
Canticles: Walmisley in D minor, Anthem: Parry 'I was
glad' and Hymns: New English Hymnal 436 and 427.
If you can join us, please contact me, Peter Parshall (see
below) by Tuesday 6 October, and I'll send further details.
In addition, whilst we've had considerable success in tracking
down a number of people with whom we had lost touch, there
are still a few for whom we have no contact details at all. Please
do email us contact details for any of the following:
Patricia Kavanagh, Natasha Lohan, Amy Leonard,
Arthur Sealy, Anna Donegan, Clare Kilkenny, Hugh
Monkhouse, Philippa Casey, Helen McMahon, Joseph
Bowlby, Seamus Ludden, Anita Wilson, Paula Dowzard,
Ian Mackrell (Organ Scholar 1995-6), Hilary Carslake
(OS 1991-2), Thomas O'Brien (OS 1994).
Finally, please do pass on this message to anyone else
you know of who has been associated with the choirs
at Christ Church, Dublin. There are bound to be people
that we don't know about and have not contacted as a
result. Looking forward to a good turn out on 17 October!
With all good wishes
