NOSFERATU: THE VAMPYRE (1922)
with live organ improvisation by David Briggs

On Wednesday 3 June 2009 at 8.00pm
there will be a screening of the iconic 1922
silent film, 'Nosferatu the Vampyre'. The sound
track will be improvised live on the cathedral
organ by international concert organist David
Briggs, who is deservedly reknowned for his
silent movie extemporisations. Come along
for a scary evening of Gothic horror!
Briggs is one of the foremost concert organists,
with a busy touring scedule which takes him all
over the world. He has built a reputation as an
exciting performer and communicator, with
particular emphases on orchestral transcriptions
and the art of improvisation, and is increasingly
in demand as a composer. He is organist
emeritus of Gloucester cathedral.
