Palm Sunday 5 April 2009 - Liturgy of Palms & Passion (11.00)
Palm Sunday will consist of a liturgy of the palms and a
eucharist with the singing of the Passion. Sung by the
cathedral choir. Setting: de Monte 'Missa inclina cor
meum' and motet, Walton 'A litany'.

Sung by the cathedral choir. Introit, Weelkes, 'Hosanna
to the Son of David', Shephard responses, canticles,
Mathias 'Jesus Service' with anthem, Tallis 'Sancte Deus'.

Good Friday 10 April 2009 - Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion (15.30)
Sung by the cathedral choir. Passion Reading with music including
Sanders reproaches, Bruckner 'Christus factus est', Casals 'O vos
omnes', Goss 'O saviour of the world', Poulenc 'Tenebrae factae sunt',
Grier 'O King of the Friday'.

Saturday 11 April 2009 - Lunchtime Concert (13.15)
The Nevada Union High School concert choir will perform
at 1.15pm in the cathedral. Based in Northern California,
the choir has performed internationally, and this tour is
their 15th to Europe and 1st to Ireland. Directed by Rodney
Baggett, they will perform a selection of sacred music by
composers including Anderson, Clausen, Courtney, Dandridge,
Dawson, Erbb, Ferguson, Gawthrop, Hakenberger, Hogan,
Lutkin, Martin, Mocnik, Monteverdi, Montoya, Morris, Newbury,
Oldroyd, Palestrina, Parker & Shaw, Rachmaninov, Stopford,
Szymko, Thomas, Tolstiakov and Washburn. For details see:

Thursday 16 April 2009 - Concert: Messiah (19.30)
As part of the Dublin Handel Festival 'Celebrating Handel 250'
held from 13 - 19 April 2009, the cathedral choir and the
orchestra of St Cecilia will once again join forces for a
performance of G.F. Handel, 'Messiah' under the baton
of the cathedral director of music, Judy Martin. Tickets are

Friday 17 April 2009 - Concert: David Rees-Williams Trio (20.00)
As part of the Dublin Handel Festival 'Celebrating Handel 250'
held from 13 - 19 April 2009, the cathedral will host the David
Rees-Williams Trio in concert. Formed in 1988, with Rees-Williams
on piano, Phil Laslett on drums and Neil Francis on bass guitar,
this remarkable Trio brings a unique freshness to classical repertoire
through improvisation and superb musicianship, uniting the best of
classical and jazz. Their programme includes music that spans
from the era of Buxtehude to 20th century jazz standards. Tickets
are Eur16 (concessions Eur12) and can be obtained from the
