MEDIEVAL DUBLIN SYMPOSIUM

The 9th Medieval Dublin Symposium takes place
on Saturday 12 May 2007 in the Robert Emmet Theatre
(Room 2037) in the Arts Building of Trinity College, Dublin.
Registration begins at 09.45, and speakers throughout
the day include Colm Lennon on medieval and early modern
Dublin; Colmán Ó Clabaigh on hermits and anchorites in
medieval Dublin; illustrations of St Doulagh's church, Co.
Dublin by Peter Harbison and Excavations at the enclosure
of St Michan's, the former prebendal church of Christ Church
Cathedral, Dublin and the two medieval timber-framed buildings
discovered in May Lane and Church Street by Giles Dawkes.

will give an evening recital accompanied by the acting assistant
organist, Tristan Russcher on the piano.

Friday 18 May 2007 - Lunchtime Concert (13.15)
The Morningside College String Orchestra will give a lunchtime
recital at the cathedral at 1.15pm. Morningside College is a small
private liberal arts school located in Sioux City, Iowa. For many
decades the name 'Morningside' has been strongly linked to
excellence in music, and an impressive number of Morningside
graduates now hold prominent positions in music and academia.

Saturday 19 May 2007 - Lunchtime Concert (13.00)
The Taretansene choir from Norway will give a recital in the
cathedral at lunchtime at the slightly earlier time of 1.00pm.
The programme will consist of a wide range of music from
ancient to modern showcasing some Norwegian folk songs.

Sunday 20 May 2007 - Cathedral Eucharist (11.00)
Sung by the Cathedral Choir. Preacher: Archdeacon Edgar Swann.
This morning's eucharist celebrates Lay Readers.
Vann 'Behold how good and joyful', Victoria 'Missa Ascendens
Christus', Philips 'Ascendit Deus', and concluding organ
voluntary, Bach 'Prelude and Fugue in D Major' (BWV532).

Saturday 26 May 2007 - Lunchtime Concert (13.15)
The Missouri State University Chamber Choir will give a
lunchtime recital at 1.15pm. They comprise a choir of
24 voices that tours regularly and are noted for their
annual Elizabethan Christmas Dinners at Missouri State.
