Friday 18 August 2006 - Evening Concert (20.00)
A concert of work entitled 'The Birth of Christ', composed
and conducted by Andrew T. Miller, International Steinway
Artist, will take place on Friday & Saturday 18 & 19 August
at 8.00pm. The choir will feature soloists: Amy Bils, Kelley
O'Connor, Robert McPherson, John B. Cooper, Owen Gilhooly,
and Robin Tritschler, with narrator, Raymond Arroyo. The choir
consists of members of the three Dublin cathedrals as well
as a multi-denominational choir from the USA, and will be
accompanied by a 31 piece orchestra from the Dublin area,
and the cathedral organ. Tickets: Adult €10 and Concession
(Student, OAP) €8 available from the Dublin Tourism Centre,
Suffolk Street, Dublin 2.

Monday 21 & Tuesday 22 August 2006 - Cathedral Closed.
Due to the filming of the television series, 'The Tudors' by Maple
Films, the cathedral will be closed on both Monday and Tuesday
the 21 and 22 August. 'The Tudors' will star Jonathan Rhys Meyers
as a young Henry VIII, Sam Neill as Cardinal Thomas Wolsey,
Jeremy Northam as Sir Thomas More and Dublin veteran, Barry
McGovern as Bishop Bonnivet.

Saturday 26 August 2006 - Lunchtime Concert (13.00)
Today's lunchtime concert at the slightly earlier than usual time
of 1.00pm sees Aisling Agnew (flute) and Matthew McAllister
(guitar) returning again to Christ Church after a successful
lunchtime recital as part of Heritage Week in September last year.
This year, their tour of Ireland begins with Christ Church, moving
on to venues such as Emo Court, and the castles of Ferns, Ormond
Roscrea and Portumna, concluding in St Audoen's and finally
Parkes Castle in Leitrim. The programme will include works by
J.S. Bach, Heath, Caffrey, Fennessy, Borne, Poulenc and Ravel.
Admission to the cathedral is € 5 (Euro).
