Justus News at the Lambeth Conference

London: Saturday, 11 July 98

There are stories from London and Canterbury this weekend that the official press service of the Lambeth Conference is in somewhat of a state of disarray, and new people may be appointed.

The Society of Archbishop Justus had not previously planned to send a reporter to Lambeth, because of the expense, the logistical difficulty, and the likelihood that our reporter would not get access to anything interesting.

But given these new developments, we're going to dust off our "news" list, last used at the US General Convention last year, and offer a Lambeth news stream. We don't expect more than one or two messages a day, but if you don't want to receive those, now would be a good time to unsubscribe.

While I have your attention: Anglicans Online has mounted an electronic "petition of greeting" to the Bishops who will be assembled in Canterbury. Please have a look at

http://anglican.org/online/forms/greetings.html

and, should you agree with the sentiments, please add your name to the petition. This will be given to every Bishop the first day of the conference.
